Friends don't let other friends buy HP printers..
I used to have vastly more respect for HP as a company but sadly, along with many others, HP has realised that subscription based services over absolute ownership of products and software are far more lucrative.
Companies like HP don't want you to have total control over your purchased product. And as consumers we should vote with our dollars.
They have even gone as far to disable scanning functionality on printer/scanners if you have empty ink cartridges. Um, excuse me? So if I decided I only wanted the machine as a scanner you are forcing me to purchase expensive ink to grant me the privileges of your service? Absolutely not, I will not stand for such a practice and we at Island Tech will not support it.
The last time I was sent onsite in Oneroa to diagnose an HP printer I found myself stuck in their HP Smart application which was completely bugged. With no option available, I spent over two hours trying to brute force through their terribly optimised app until it just decided to work after the umpteenth time. NEVER again.
Please, Waiheke, don't make me ever have to work on an HP printer again. It's not worth it.
